The Kauai Beach Resort was given the opportunity to sponsor the EK Fernandez Maltese Family Circus Shows at the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair, and Robin Graf, the resorts general manager just about did a handstand and backflip when given the opportunity, because the Maltese Family was the absolute hit and headlining act at the fair but a few years back.
It all started with the Maltese Family father Rosario Maltese. He was born in Italy and entered the world of circus when he was but a young boy. During his travels, he learned several languages, married, had children and formed a circus of his own. Rosario died in Venezuela, leaving the circus to his young sons and daughters. Together, they continued taking the show from town to town.They went from clowning around on the floor to jumping from one another's shoulders doing amazing acrobats. Then, they became trapeze flyers, swinging on a bar high above the ground. They have captured the hearts and attention of people around the world. They communicate with smiles, charm and hand movements. The Maltese family presents the unique world of circus in a delightful manner where any member of a family can enjoy the moment.
Their shows at the Kauai County Farm Bureua Fair will once again be very well received with a total of 8 performances over the four days and night focusing on the Russian swing, aerial acts, a magic box act, a contrortionist act, comic clown as well as getting the audience involved in many of their antics. Their presence at this years fair further reinforces the theme WE ARE FAMILY.
